Sucess in Research

Prednisone

Corticosteroid

This drug was developed 60 years aago as an anti-inflammatory agent. Thanks to reaserch done in drug repurposing, it was found to vastly reduce overactive immunoresponse. Thanks to this life saving research, Predison can now be used as a very potent drug to help fight Leukemia and Lymphomas helping to both reduce reactions to chemotharapy as well as bolster it's effectivness by helping target cancerous cells.

Vitamin A

Antioxidant

This drug, isolated centrys ago, has been used in modern medicne to treat everthing from dietary deficiency to acne prevention. It wasn't until recently though, through research done in drug reporposing that it's effectivness in cancer treatment was realized. A drug, as simple as Vitaman A, completly revolutionized the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia and neuroblastoma in 1997 and 1999.

Thalidomide

Immunomodulatory agent

First used in the 1950's to help treat infections, research done on this drug found that through reformulating it slightly vastly increased its effectiveness for treating life threatening illness like myelodysplastic syndromes and myeloma.
